Currently 8.2 million people owe more than they are worth. Some analysts are concerned that this unprecedented level of debt might pose a risk to the financial health of American households.
Today, only 10% of schools in America teach financial management. In 2003 9-to-14 year-olds, so-called "tweens", spent $39 billion. Kids ages 4-12 spent 2.2 billion in 1968 and 4.2 billion in 1984. By 1994 the figure increased to 17.1 billion, and by 2002 their spending exceeded $40 billion.

National Financial Literacy Month
April is National Financial Literacy Month. Activities happening all over the state of Texas, aimed at increasing awareness about the need for financial education, will take place in your community.
